Getting What You Want

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

There is absolutely no reason in the world why you can’t get what you want in life. You’ve got to think it, believe it, plan, and take action. Keep in mind that it won’t necessarily be easy so be prepared to stick with it for the long haul. Desire, consistency, knowing what you want and willingness to take risks will set you on the right path. Think, process, and be willing to explore your options as they relate to your goal.

When discouragement comes around feel it and then decide what you’re going to do to get over the hump. One small action is often all it takes to sweep the blues and/or feelings of being overwhelmed away. Pace yourself, the thing that usually brings us down fastest is trying to do too much too fast and then burning out.

If discouraging words from others defeat you try looking at it this way:

They aren’t you and don’t truly understand your life and goals as well as you do no matter how close your relationship to them.

Listen to whatever they’ve got to say and take away from it what you will. If they hit upon a point you hadn’t thought of do some investigating. It’s good to get input just don’t let what others say prevent you from moving forward.

You’ve got to believe in you before anyone else will! If you’re confident, your goals will feel more real and more attainable. Each of us is a work in progress.

You have it in you to have the life you desire but it takes effort, motivation, and persistence. Doing just one small thing every day keeps you on your path. Resist the urge to do more than you feel you can take on. As you learn and grow the progress you make will increase exponentially.
