Advocate for Yourself!

Sunday, September 25th, 2016

No ContactThere is no one who will advocate for you like you can for yourself.

You can have the most loving family, friends, spouse, children, co-workers, neighbors, etc. but in the end they can not do for you what you can do for yourself.

If you feel there is something you need or must have, a goal or an achievement that is important to you; get as much information as you can and seek help where you need it.

You won’t win every time on your journey. There will be setbacks missteps and mistakes.

When in sales I used to get frustrated with myself when I made mistakes. There were times when I made one mistake-only one and it cost me a sale. Forgetting one step can be costly in anything but it’s not the end of the world.

If you face frustrations on your journey know that others face frustrations too. We all have our struggles no matter what path we’re on.

I used to think there must be one thing I was missing and if I knew what that one thing was my struggles would disappear. I would suddenly know exactly what to do and everything would fall into place in each situation I faced.

No such luck. It isn’t that way for any of us. There is no pat answer to every problem though there are aha moments when we have clarity about something which up to that point had mystified us.

You know your journey better than anyone else does.

You also know when you can push yourself and when you need to pull back though it is much easier to pull back on a regular basis…much harder to go forward when what lies ahead is unknown.

How about you? What are you struggling with?  How are you going to move forward?

How will you advocate for yourself?

Rejected

Monday, August 24th, 2015

There is nothing most of us hate more than being rejected.

Who likes that?

Who wants one person, a group of people, or any collective unit to ignore, walk away from, bully, or in some other way

discard them by:

Rejecting your ideas

Rejecting your presence

Rejecting YOU

The above is painful. In fact so painful it can mean we withdraw from people places–life as we know it–just

so we aren’t subjected to that kind of pain again.

However, when our worst fear is realized and we are rejected our body and mind will heal if we allow that healing

process to begin.

Beginning the process is key.

Move through the rejection as you would a bad storm.

Keep righting yourself even when monstrous winds come along that knock you off your feet.

Get back up.

Ride it out and maintain calm the best you can.

A rejection can end up giving you an experience in which you gain strength wisdom and the foothold you need to

move toward a better life.

Wheels

Thursday, September 12th, 2013

We live in a world of wheels that take us to and move us from.

They bring us back and leave behind.

They distance us and drive us away from.

We are very dependent on wheels.

Where would we be without them?

When You Dance

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.     Wayne Dyer
